About Us

Astoria Movie Tours was created to fill requests for tours to famous Astoria filming locations and landmarks.

I first became aware of Astoria reading the credits at the end of The Goonies in the late 1990’s.  I had the opportunity to visit around this time and absolutely fell in love with the city.  The ocean breezes, old Victorian homes, marine traffic up and down the Columbia River, and the amazing history of this old fishing town drew me to learn more.  And then, there were the movies and the places they were filmed.  As I visited more and more over the years, I got to know the owners of many of the classic locales and businesses, and learned many of them share the passion and pride of “The Little Hollywood of the Pacific Northwest.” This tour gives me the opportunity to share these things with you.

Because we are located locally, this allows us to give an insider’s perspective of all things Astoria movie related.  I also founded the company because of two passions: First, as previously mentioned,  a love for the city of Astoria; And two, like many of you, I have a life-long obsession for films made in the 80’s and 90’s, as well the actors/directors who brought such memorable, timeless cult classics and characters to life.  Movies filmed on location here are special and unique because of Astoria’s small-town feel, classic and beautiful scenery, and friendly locals.  The characters are like friends, locations are like home, and movie fans have a close, personal connection with the films, and the stories they tell.  Our goal at Astoria Movie Tours is to highlight these wonderful movies and their stars by bringing the films to life. To see or stand where a famous actor in one of your favorite movies performed is a tremendous thrill.  And all from the comfort of a climate controlled, passenger shuttle driven by an experienced commercial and passenger driver – Me!  Yes, it’s personal! On behalf of Astoria Movie Tours, we look forward to sharing these experiences with you and providing you the chance to take a step back into childhood by seeing filming locations from movies that have given you so many cherished memories with family and friends.
